Seafood Entrees For Lent
During the Lenten season in the Christian calendar, many Americans (particularly Catholics) abstain from meat on Fridays as part of a tradition of fasting. For families who typically rely on chicken, beef, pork or turkey to complete a meal, preparing Friday dinner during Lent can be a bit tricky. However, seafood is not considered meat in many Lenten fasting traditions.
So, What’s To Eat?
We’re going to assume that you won’t be hitting up your local Friday Night Fish Fry every week of Lent. For those who prefer cooking hearty, healthy family meals at home—but who don’t often use fish—it can be difficult to know where to start.
We recommend starting in the seafood entrée section of our Crown Prince recipe collection. All original dishes that Crown Prince developed and taste-tested ourselves use canned seafood, which (especially for beginners) is easy to locate and easy to cook with!
